Sarah Paveley
Sarah is the club owner and manager. She is passionate about fencing and has been so since she was 9 years old. She represented GB as a junior, senior and as a vet.
She has two silver commonwealth medals. She loves coaching young people and seeing the difference coaches, sport and an inclusive fun club can make to young people’s lives.

Archie Broughton
Archie has been fencing since the age of 9 and spent much of this time fencing competitively. He was Head Coach at the University of Leeds Fencing Club for 2 years during his time at university and has been coaching professionally since 2019

Matt Billing
Matt Billing started fencing in Cornwall and has been a foilist for 23 years and has represented GB at World Cups and Grand
Prix, as well as being part of the 2018 England Commonwealth Team (winning a team silver medal).
Having just relocated with wife and baby girl to Cambridge we are very lucky to have him with his considerable coaching
experience with all ages from U10 to Veterans, at all levels. He has coached at the following clubs: UCL, University of Cambridge,
Salle Boston, and Escrime Academy. -

Mark Baker
Mark and Sarah have known each other since they were 14 and 11 respectively. Mark is an experienced coach and coaches at premier London Club, Salle Boston and for Cambridge Sword at Club nights and after school sessions.

Owen Birch
Owen started fencing at Lancaster University in 2014, and has been competing and coaching since. He holds a level three coaching qualification in foil, and a level two in sabre. He lives in Suffolk, and is also the head coach at Bury St. Edmunds Fencing Club.
He has won Medals at opens, took fifth place at the three-weapon Malta Open Championship, and as part of the Men’s 1st team at Lancaster University, won the BUCS Northern Conference Cup.

Carina Liew
Fencer parent and friendly Club Secretary since 2022, Carina is our go to person for all membership, club information and all things competition related, from beginners to advanced and relative age categories. Her knowledge is not limited to just dealing with the administrative side of club affairs, but also advising and maintenance of equipment. She is also an England Fencing Representative Officer, and is able to assist regarding England Fencing queries. She is contactable by email or WhatsApp and if you would prefer to speak to in person, you will often see her at the Monday and Wednesday evening club sessions.
