BYC Qualifier success
A massive well done to our Cambridge sword fencers who have qualified for the BYC’s!! We had great success across all age groups, seeing a great improvement from all fencers and we are especially excited to see some of the younger fencers who are fairly new to competition showing clear improvement after all their hard work.
Overall we had 13 fencers qualify, these include George Appleton (U12 Men’s foil), Liubov Sitnik, Victoria Zhang, Madeline Price (U12 Women’s Foil), Olivier Vanelslande, Daniel Shenker, Xander Curran, Alvin Luk, Joeseph Haughton (U14 Men’s Foil), Rosie Raju (U14 Women’s foil), Reuben Shenker (U16 Men’s Foil), Ethan Smith (U18 Men’s Foil) and Emily Bradley(U18 Women’s Foil).
Lots of hard work throughout the day from all our fencers, we had a very tight club matchup between Xander Curran and Joseph Haughton with just 1 point in it and the coaches are very impressed by both fencers! Another super close match was fought between our fencers Daniel Shenker and Olivier Vlanelslande to get through to the semi final and medal positions, again with just a 1 point difference in the match. Great sportsmanship was shown in both these matches!!
Overall super hard work from everyone and us coaches are very proud!!
