National Cadet & Junior Championships 2025

The National Cadet & Junior Championships took place on the first weekend of September. Fencers Ethan Smith and Rose Raju attended the event at the David Ross Sports Village in Nottingham.

Ethan was first to fence on the Saturday with a challenging poule . He unfortunately sprained his back during the course of the day and valiantly fought in his DEs, to finish 44 out of 59.

Rose was on the afternoon and had a hard poule. She fought as well as she could and finished ranked 27 out 47. She returned the following day to fencer the Juniors Championship and in contrast to the previous day, she had a great experience fencing against a Cadet World Champion and many fencers up to six years her senior, she finished ranked 23 out of 50.

Great results from both fencers in their first experience in the national championship of this age category, against very competitive and highly elite fencers!
